Our Story

Emberlin began with a simple belief: some stories deserve more room to exist.

Room for Black characters to be adventurers, scientists, healers, dreamers, warriors, inventors, children solving impossible mysteries—and people simply trying to understand who they are.

We wanted to build a publishing house where those stories could stretch beyond familiar boundaries.

A place where memory could meet science fiction. Where history could meet myth. Where young readers could discover strange mysteries and new worlds. And where Black characters could stand at the center of imaginative stories without having to explain why they belong there.

So we built Emberlin.
